Former Gateway Church senior pastor, Robert Morris, was released from prison on Tuesday morning following his 2025 guilty plea of sexually abusing Cindy Clemishire in the 1980s, starting when she was just 12 years old.
According to CBS News, a notice that was automated by court officials documented that Robert Morris left the prison located in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, right after midnight.

Morris previously pled guilty to five counts of indecent or lewd acts with a child, according to NBC 5 News in Dallas. Morris served six months in jail with a 10-year suspended sentence. He is now to be on a nine and a half year probation period and must become a registered sex offender for the remainder of his life.
As NBC 5 noted, Morris’ attorneys noted that he pled guilty because “he wanted to accept responsibility for his conduct…Pastor Robert made it a point to ask that I tell Ms. Clemishire and her family that he sincerely apologizes.”
This news comes right after the Oklahoma House passed the “Cindy Clemishire Act,” which will create restrictions in the use of nondisclosure agreements when it comes to child abuse cases.

I am still sick!! I can’t believe he was my pastor for over 20 yrs.
How much have you prayed for him all those 20 yrs? We should be praying for them frontliners as they are the enemy’s top list priority to destroy.
I guess you’ve never messed up big time. God uses a broken man to reach others.
Pastor Robert messed up and has owned up to it.
Do your best imitation of Jesus and forgive him of the past sin.
It’s what Jesus does for all of us. Including you.
Who are we to judge him? Anyone who had never sinned or done wrong in his or her life are the ones who can throw a stone on him and judge him.Jesus Christ did not condemn a woman who committed adultery.
May be there was a reason why you were under his pastoral ship. You should be able to forgive and move on.
Our Precious Lord Jesus Christ already forgive him.
