Are we witnessing a sign that we are nearing the very end of time?
A haunting scene unfolded over Western Australia as the skies turned a deep crimson ahead of Tropical Cyclone Narelle, which left residents staring upward at what seemed like an almost otherworldly display.
Footage shared across social media showed entire horizons glowing red, with dust-filled air casting an eerie tint across towns and coastlines. The visuals were striking—beautiful, yet unsettling—prompting both scientific explanation and spiritual reflection.
According to New York Post, the unusual color came as powerful winds from the approaching cyclone swept across the region, lifting vast amounts of red dust into the atmosphere. Western Australia’s soil, rich in iron, played a key role in the phenomenon, intensifying the color as particles filled the sky.
The Science Behind the Crimson Glow
As reported by The New York Times, the effect is tied to how light interacts with particles in the air. When sunlight passes through thick dust, shorter wavelengths — like blue—scatter, while longer wavelengths—reds and oranges—become dominant. The result is a sky that appears dramatically transformed.

The air was described as gritty, with reduced visibility and a heavy atmosphere as the dust moved through. The red hue lingered for hours before the weather shifted, with stronger winds and rain eventually clearing the sky and restoring normal conditions.
While the event may have appeared apocalyptic, both outlets emphasized that it was a natural occurrence tied to environmental and meteorological factors surrounding the cyclone.
When the Skies Speak
Even so, moments like these have a way of stirring something deeper.
Throughout Scripture, signs in the heavens are often tied to pivotal moments in God’s timeline. From the prophets of the Old Testament to the words of Jesus Himself, the Bible repeatedly points to unusual activity in the skies as markers of significant spiritual events.
In the book of Joel, we are reminded that: “the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood.” This same imagery is echoed again in Revelation, where cosmic disturbances accompany the unfolding of the last days.
Jesus also said there would be “signs in the sun, moon and stars.” Whether through natural phenomena or supernatural events, the heavens will not remain silent.
Are these simply moments of atmospheric wonder? Or are they subtle reminders to remain watchful, discerning the times, and anchored in truth?
Because one day, the signs in the sky will not just be stunning—they will be unmistakable.

I think scripture would point to the condition of where the Church should be at, as the greatest
sign of the LORD’s coming ! This seems to be rarely or never talked about. But over and over again
the emphasis is on cosmic events and/or Israel.
Two passages in Ephesians 4:11-16 and 5:22-27! The first passage paraphrased, the true body of
Christ should unity and the character of Christ (Maturity). 4:14-16 indicates that the Church is
not to be tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men,
in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15) but speaking the truth in love, growing up in all
things into Him who is the head-CHRIST- etc. … to the body being built up in love 16) The latest
Barna Poll says that the 4% of the Church has a Biblical Worldview, down from 12% in the 1990’s!
No wonder the church is in the condition it is!
The second passage in 5:22-27 talks about the Church being presented holy and without blame in
all her glory! This would go hand in hand with Jesus’s high priestly prayer in John 17:20-24.
Lastly, 2 Peter 3:10-12 says that “living holy and godly lives will Speed HIS ARRIVAL as the Church
is looking for His COMING! NIV/And my paraphrased interpretation.
I think some balance could be offered in articles on end time events! Otherwise it can appear as
hype! And Hype sells a lot of books!
