In the wake of the horrific Michael Tait scandal, the Newsboys continue to feel the sobering weight of fallout after being dropped by promoters, K-Love radio, their record label, and now, from a music festival as well.
According to ChurchLeaders, Kingdom Bound Ministries decided to replace the Newsboys from their July 2025 Christian music fest.

On Facebook, the ministry made the announcement that Passion Music would be taking the Newsboys’ place during the festival.
We’re honored to announce that Passion Music is joining the Kingdom Bound lineup this summer! They’ll take the stage on Monday, July 28 alongside Anne Wilson, Colton Dixon, and more for a powerful night of worship.
The ministry also discussed the difficult decision they had to make concerning the cancellation of the Newsboys in the lineup.
In recent weeks, concerns have come to light regarding allegations surrounding The Newsboys. After prayerful reflection and discussion, our team, alongside our Board of Directors, has made the decision to move in a different direction from the band for this year’s festival. While these situations are never easy, our heart is to create a space that honors Christ and encourages every person who walks through our gates. We ask that you join us in praying for everyone affected, as well as for the band during this time.
We’re grateful for your continued support and can’t wait to gather with you this July to lift up the name of Jesus. We’ll see you soon!
This comes during the time that the band made the announcement that their record label dropped them due to Tait’s confession and surrounding allegations.
