Cindy Clemishire has responded to Robert Morris’ “not guilty” plea following his surrender to authorities after he was indicted for five counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child for sexually abusing Clemishire, which started when she was only 12.
Clemishire told the Christian Post that Morris’ “not guilty” plea did not catch her off-guard.

“It did not surprise me…It is my understanding any attorney would advise their client to plead not guilty. It gives the criminal the opportunity to negotiate a plea,” she told the Post.
Since Morris’ plea, other people across the internet have also taken different stances on this tragic story.
Comments on Charisma Magazine’s social media platforms have varied greatly. Many are calling for prayer for Morris, while others see this as God’s righteous judgment taking place.
“This continued for four years, not guilty, disgusting,” one commentor wrote.
“It’s so sad and shocking. He was a good preacher,” another says.
While others brought up the divisiveness of the comments themselves among those who had differing opinions about the case.
“Check your pockets. A sin is a sin even though the world doesn’t judge it that way, but God does and will.”
As the body of Christ, the most important thing we can do right now is not to divide from one another, but join in prayer for all those involved in this horrific scenario, including Gateway during this devastating time for their church family.
