Deep in the Arkansas wilderness, a team of cryptid researchers says they captured something on camera that they cannot easily explain. L.A. Marzulli believes the implications could extend far beyond Bigfoot.
Cryptid researcher Daniel Becker joined Marzulli to discuss a photograph taken in an isolated Arkansas research area his team calls “Ground Zero.” According to Becker, what began as another day searching for tracks and unusual activity turned into an encounter that left his team wondering whether something was watching them from the woods.
Becker said he was exploring the area with research partners William Lunsford and Steven Hill when they found tracks about 20 inches long. As they continued through the forest, Becker said the atmosphere changed.
“What we felt particular was that we were being watched,” Becker said.
Believing something could be observing them from the tree line, Becker quickly turned and began taking photographs. When the researchers examined the images, one appeared to contain what Becker described as a face—with a defined nose, brow and other features—peering through the trees.
But Becker says his team didn’t simply declare they had photographed Bigfoot.
“You always have to be your first skeptic,” he said.
The photograph was sent to a professional photographer in Anchorage, Alaska. According to Becker, after examining the image, the photographer would not call the figure Bigfoot but told the researchers that “whatever is there is still there.” His partners also returned to the location to investigate whether a tree or another natural object could explain the mysterious figure.

Then came another startling detail.
Becker initially believed the apparent figure stood around 8 feet tall. However, he said Lunsford later reminded him that when researchers returned and attempted to determine its height, they estimated it at approximately 11 feet.
Yet for Marzulli, the question goes deeper than whether an enormous unidentified creature is roaming the Arkansas wilderness.
Marzulli has long explored the possibility that certain cryptid phenomena could have a supernatural component. During the conversation, he theorized about a possible connection between these mysterious creatures and the biblical “beasts of the earth.”
Becker also urged Christians to exercise spiritual discernment when approaching claims surrounding cryptids, particularly reports from people who say they have experienced telepathic or “mind-to-mind” communication with Bigfoot-like creatures.
“Anything supernatural, you’re either dealing with the Lord or you’re dealing with the enemy,” Becker said.
That prompted an immediate biblical reminder from Marzulli: “Test the spirits.”
Becker warned that an apparently friendly supernatural encounter should not automatically be considered harmless. Pointing back to the serpent’s deception of Eve in Genesis, he argued that Christians should carefully question the source of any purported supernatural communication.
As strange encounters continue capturing the culture’s attention, perhaps the most important question isn’t merely “What is out there?”
It’s “What spirit is behind it?”
