What if one of America’s most controversial intelligence operations never truly became history?
As renewed congressional interest shines a spotlight on Operation Paperclip and the origins of the CIA’s infamous MKUltra program, author and filmmaker L.A. Marzulli believes Christians should pay close attention—not because of political intrigue alone, but because he sees the fingerprints of spiritual warfare woven throughout one of the darkest chapters of modern history.
During a recent broadcast, Marzulli reacted to comments made during a congressional hearing featuring Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, who questioned researchers about Operation Paperclip—the post-World War II program that brought more than 1,600 German scientists and specialists into the United States. The hearing explored allegations that some individuals connected to Nazi human experimentation later influenced research that became associated with MKUltra, the CIA’s now-declassified mind-control program.
For Marzulli, however, the discussion reaches far beyond government archives.
“The Nazis were steeped in the occult,” he said. “Make no doubt about that. They were steeped in the occult.”
Marzulli argued that while many dismiss these topics as conspiracy theories, the fact that members of Congress are publicly revisiting them should prompt believers to ask difficult questions.
“Everything I said today… there’s no conspiracy theory here at all,” Marzulli said. “It’s all been documented. Other researchers have spent a lot of time. All this has been well documented over the years.”
The filmmaker then shared two deeply personal encounters that, in his view, illustrate the reality of spiritual warfare and trauma-based manipulation.

One occurred during a Christian conference in Oregon, where Marzulli said a woman who had requested prayer underwent what appeared to be a dramatic personality shift before his eyes.
“The transformation was unbelievable,” he recalled. “It was startling… How can this possibly be the same woman?”
In another account involving the late Russ Dizdar, Marzulli described a woman who suddenly spoke in what he characterized as a deep German voice before breaking into what Dizdar called a “twilight language.” The experience, he said, reinforced his conviction that Christians cannot ignore the reality of spiritual warfare.
From there, Marzulli zoomed out to what he believes is the larger prophetic picture.
He suggested Adolf Hitler’s campaign against the Jewish people was not merely political or racial but represented a satanic attempt to prevent God’s covenant promises concerning Israel from coming to pass.
Pointing to Amos 9 and Israel’s rebirth in 1948, Marzulli argued that the Holocaust ultimately failed to stop God’s prophetic timetable.
“Out of the ashes of the Holocaust came the nation of Israel,” he said.
Throughout the broadcast, Marzulli repeatedly urged viewers not to become consumed by fear but to pursue discernment. He believes the renewed attention surrounding Operation Paperclip should remind Christians that history often contains spiritual dimensions that cannot be ignored.
“Stay prayed up. Stay close to Jesus,” Marzulli urged. “We’re entering a time that is unprecedented in my opinion.”
As questions surrounding America’s intelligence past resurface, Marzulli is calling believers not merely to investigate history—but to sharpen their spiritual discernment and remain anchored in Christ.
