Former Disney Star Warns ‘They’re Coming After Our Kids’

For many viewers, Leigh-Allyn Baker will always be remembered as Amy Duncan, the beloved mother on Disney Channel’s Good Luck Charlie. But in recent years, Baker has become known for something far different: her outspoken defense of parental rights, medical freedom and biblical conviction.

Appearing on the Lisa Bevere Podcast, Baker opened up about the personal journey that transformed her from a successful Hollywood actress into a national voice for courage and conviction.

“I miss it every single day,” Baker admitted when asked about leaving much of her entertainment career behind. “I don’t like the controversy. I don’t like the judgment. I don’t like being in a political arena. But I’m sorry. It’s not political to say no one can force me to have an injection.”

Baker shared that her advocacy was deeply influenced by experiences involving her own children.

According to Baker, both of her sons experienced health complications following childhood vaccinations, leading her family on a long journey of seeking answers and healing.

Looking back, she described learning a difficult lesson about fear.

“We vaccinate them out of fear,” Baker said. “And fear is a horrible counselor.”

That realization became a turning point in her life. During the conversation, she reflected on how God used those experiences to strengthen her faith and reshape her understanding of courage.

“God told me, ‘Your children will inherit either My promises or your fears,'” Baker recalled.

Years later, as COVID-19 mandates swept across the nation, Baker found herself thrust into the public spotlight after speaking at a Tennessee school board meeting opposing mask mandates for children. What she expected to be a brief appearance quickly became a viral national story.

When asked why she felt compelled to speak, Baker’s answer was simple.

“They’re coming after my kids. Not on my watch,” she said. “They’re coming after a generation that watched me, that calls me mom. Not on my watch.”

Throughout the interview, Bevere emphasized that courage often begins with small acts of obedience. Baker agreed, encouraging believers not to underestimate the power of everyday faithfulness.

“Obedience starts at home,” Baker said. “Small obedience leads to large obedience.”

While much of the conversation centered on cultural issues, the heart of Baker’s message remained deeply spiritual. She repeatedly pointed listeners back to trusting God rather than seeking approval from people.

“Everyone in the world needs to stop worrying about what other people think of you and start worrying about what your Heavenly Father thinks of you,” she said.

Near the end of the discussion, Baker reflected on what she once viewed as the end of her career. Instead, she now sees God’s hand at work in ways she never expected.

“I thought that being on the Disney Channel was where adults’ careers go to die,” she said. “But instead, God has literally served me up a generation on a silver platter.”

Baker’s testimony serves as a reminder for us that courage is not the absence of fear. Rather, it is choosing obedience despite fear—and trusting God with the outcome.
