Even after her death, Dolly Parton’s unmistakable voice is still reaching her fans.
A new prerecorded message from the country music legend is welcoming visitors to the newly opened Storyteller Hotel in Nashville and the Dolly Parton Life of Many Colors Museum, one of several projects Parton put into motion before her death at age 80.
“Hi everybody, it’s Dolly, and I am so proud to invite you to my Life of Many Colors Museum,” Parton says in the message featured by Entertainment Tonight.
Parton described the museum as the largest exhibit of her life and career, filled with the “stories, songs, and memories” she carried with her. The immersive attraction features rare pieces from her collections while walking visitors through the story of the woman who dreamed big and refused to stop creating.
And Parton made it clear before her death that slowing down was never part of the plan.

“No. Why would I ever want to slow down?” Parton said in a previous interview featured by Entertainment Tonight. “I don’t ever want to retire.”
She explained that her “wild imagination” kept her working and dreaming up new projects.
Parton also reflected on the sacrifices behind her extraordinary career and the lesson she hoped others would take from her story.
“Dreams can come true, and dreams do come true,” she said.
Those words now carry a different weight.
Parton may no longer be here to personally welcome fans through the doors, but she left behind more than songs, rhinestones and memories. She left pieces of herself woven into projects she dreamed up while she was still here, allowing her voice, her story and her remarkable determination to keep speaking long after her final curtain call.
