Be a Worker of Miracles

Have you ever locked your keys in the car? Ever been late for an appointment? We take these annoying circumstances as unavoidable, a part of this life. When we reap the consequences due to our lack of planning or absentmindedness, our human reasoning says we have to suffer the consequences even for our innocent mistakes. After all, God helps only those who help themselves, right? This reasoning seems very logical and is common sense to most of us.

However, it is this very reasoning that has so limited our experience of the supernatural. Our heavenly Father, who chose us to be His children, lives in what we would consider to be a supernatural state. What we consider to be miraculous is normal for our Father. A mind closed off to supernatural possibilities limits what our heavenly Father wants to do through us and for us.

All the miracles that Jesus performed while in His earthly ministry couldn’t be contained in all the world’s books. Some of these miracles were quite frivolous, such as turning water into wine and walking on water. A spiritually closed mind shuts the door of opportunity in our circumstances. If we want to flow in the supernatural, we must be open to the possibilities of it.

Stephen, who was chosen to serve food so that the apostles could focus on prayer and teaching, worked a great many miracles; so many that he drew the attention and hatred of others for the miracles.

“It is not advantageous for us to be pulled away from the word of God to wait on tables. We want you to carefully select from among yourselves seven godly men. Make sure they are honorable, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, and we will give them the responsibility of this crucial ministry of serving” (Acts 6:2-3, TPT).

Stephen, who was a man full of grace and supernatural power, performed many astonishing signs and wonders and mighty miracles among the people. This upset some men belonging to a sect who called themselves the Men Set Free. They were Libyans, Egyptians and Turks (Acts 6:8-9).
