Could a prophetic word about California’s drought, spiritual awakening and divine acceleration be taking on new significance in the wake of a powerful tropical storm?
As California reels from the aftermath of Tropical Storm Rachel, a prophetic message from the late Kim Clement is drawing renewed attention, particularly his striking declaration about an abundance of rain coming to the Golden State.
“Can you hear the sound of abundance?” Clement prophesied. “I hear the sound of an abundance of rain. For God says the drought is coming to an end…The drought in California is coming to an end.”
Those words carry an intriguing parallel to the extraordinary weather California has just experienced.
According to The Associated Press, the remnants of Tropical Storm Rachel pounded Southern California over the weekend, bringing powerful waves, rain and dangerous coastal conditions. In Long Beach, destructive surf tore apart a historic boardwalk, damaged oceanfront homes and forced residents to evacuate.
Yet Clement’s prophetic message extended far beyond physical rainfall. He also spoke of a coming season of supernatural acceleration.
“I will accelerate,” he said. “God said ‘deceleration has taken place…some of you say ‘it’s demonic,’ but God says, ‘it’s dynamic.’ I am driving you to a higher place, therefore, I give you My word the acceleration is beginning again says the Lord.”

But perhaps the most compelling part of Clement’s message concerned a spiritual awakening that would touch California’s next generation and transform families.
“God says there will be an unusual move of My Spirit among the youth in California,” Clement prophesied. “There will be an unusual movement amongst the men. Fathers shall rise to the occasion. Husbands shall rise as spiritual leaders shall suddenly come out of their slumber.”
This came with a promise that: “A spirit of acceleration of faith will rise upon your children.”
Clement’s words then turned toward a powerful biblical image: the valley of dry bones.
“I chose young men to be the prophets of the day. God says your young men, your young women, they shall prophesy in a valley. They will not prophesy on the mountain. They will prophesy to the dead bones in the valley and resurrection shall be upon their mouth, and the dead bones will live, says the Lord.”
The imagery echoes Ezekiel 37, in which God commands the prophet to speak to the dry bones, bringing life to what seemed utterly hopeless.
From drought to abundance, from deceleration to acceleration and from dry bones to resurrection, Clement’s prophetic words point to one overarching theme: what appears lifeless today may not remain so tomorrow.
And perhaps the greatest outpouring isn’t simply rain from heaven, but a fresh move of the Holy Spirit.
