In a special announcement, The Chosen creator Dallas Jenkins shared what viewers can expect this coming Christmas season.
“We are releasing in December on Fox a new Christmas episode,” Jenkins said. “Yes, the third in our Christmas trilogy.”
Jenkins noted how The Chosen previously put out Christmas specials with The Shepherd and The Messengers.
The team will now release The Chosen: The Three Kings.
“Fox, yes, the Fox Broadcasting Network, is going to be airing this special Christmas episode in December. Now, I can’t tell you much more. I’m not going to tell you about the cast and all that kind of stuff. I’m not going to show footage from the show just yet, but we wanted to give you this announcement now as this lovely surprise,” Jenkins said.

Jenkins discussed how instead of releasing this on Amazon Prime, placing The Chosen on Fox is a chance to “get even more of The Chosen out to new audiences.”
“It’s going to be on national television in December,” he said. “A really cool opportunity to broadcast this to a big audience. And so, right now I want you to start thinking ahead saving the date for December…we don’t have the exact date just yet, but just stay tuned.”
Jenkins points out what will be so significant about this is how people will be watching Season 6 in November and December, and that this particular Christmas special will tie into what viewers will be seeing during this new episode.
Some of the storylines that are in season six are actually carried out in this episode,” Jenkins said. “So, this is not just a separate episode like it’s disconnected from the show. This flows directly with Season 6 and into Season 7…this Christmas episode will also pay off in the crucifxion movie that comes out in early 2027.”
Jenkins also share that the storyline that became the content for this Christmas special was originally slated to be in Season 6. However, as the season grew and became too long and expensive, they decided instead to take the Three Kings flashback and recreate it for a Christmas episode.
For fans of The Chosen, this Christmas special will be far more than a seasonal detour. With The Three Kings woven directly into the road toward the crucifixion, Jenkins sets the stage for a Christmas story that points beyond Bethlehem to the ultimate reason Christ came and, as he promises, viewers have “not seen it like this before.”
