A viral cage fight between an influencer and a 6-foot humanoid robot may have been staged for entertainment, but the footage offers a startling glimpse into the future.
Influencer Frankie Lapenna entered a San Francisco ring wearing a helmet, motorcycle gear and protective gloves. Waiting for him was a modified ENGINEAI T800 humanoid robot remotely controlled by robot-fighting company REK.
Lapenna landed several early punches, knocking the machine backward. The robot soon answered with a barrage of powerful kicks that sent him flying across the cage.
Viewers immediately recognized the darker implications.
“Didn’t we have, like, 6 movies explaining why this is a bad idea?” one Instagram user wrote, according to the Daily Mail.
“Stop. Teaching. Them. To. Fight,” another warned.

REK CEO Cix Liv said Lapenna initially wanted to fight without protective clothing.
“But we told him that he had to, and when he saw what the robot could do, he actually said that he needed more,” Liv told the Daily Mail.
Lapenna faced three robots during the event, including two machines standing about 6 feet tall and weighing up to 187 pounds. REK claims its larger robots can strike with 850 pounds of force.
Despite footage showing Lapenna being pummeled, REK said he defeated one robot by knocking it into a wall, causing it to seize up and tear off its own head. He escaped with only a hand injury from punching metal.
What Could This Mean for Humanity?
The fight was a controlled stunt, and the robot was operated remotely. It was not independently choosing to attack a human.
Yet the footage raises an unavoidable question: What happens when machines like these leave the cage?
Humanity has a long history of weaponizing new technology. Drones are already transforming warfare, particularly in conflicts involving Ukraine and Iran. Militaries are racing to develop faster aircraft, autonomous systems and more effective counter-drone weapons.
Humanoid robots could open an entirely new chapter.
What happens if governments deploy them for policing, border enforcement, riot control or military assaults? Machines possess no morality, compassion or empathy. They do not understand mercy, recognize human dignity or question an unlawful command. They follow their programming.
Such machines could protect soldiers and officers from danger. They could also place extraordinary force in the hands of governments or militaries without requiring a human being to pull the trigger in person.
The Bible describes the end times as an age of escalating war, mass bloodshed and destruction on a scale the world has never witnessed, as described in Matthew 24 and Revelation 6. As drones fill the skies and fighting machines begin to take human form, this viral cage match may be more than a bizarre stunt. It could be a chilling glimpse down the road at just how merciless the wars of the future will become.
