In a video interview with Joshua and Caleb Colson, the Messianic Jewish brothers behind the Bearded Bible Bros., Mondo Gonzales of Prophecy Watchers explores the discoveries at Gath. Gonzales spent a month digging there in 2008 and has kept an eye on what excavators have found since.

The brothers begin with the biblical account of giants in the region and Goliath’s confrontation with David. Gonzales then turns to the physical clues: a pottery inscription bearing a name linguistically similar to Goliath and the massive fortifications uncovered beneath later layers of the city. The size of those walls caught his attention, especially in a place so closely tied to one of the Bible’s most famous giants.
From there, the conversation takes another turn. The brothers follow the mystery beyond the land of the Philistines to immense stone structures in Peru, historical accounts of giants and the Nazca Lines.
