Three young children escaped injury after a speeding driver lost control of a Chevrolet Camaro and crashed through a fence beside their backyard swimming pool, according to FOX 4.
The crash happened around 7 p.m. Sunday along Heritage Trace Parkway in north Fort Worth. Police said the car struck a concrete pillar, bounced back onto the road and eventually stopped.
Security video shared with FOX 4 shows the car smashing through the fence moments after a child walked nearby. Flying wood, rocks and pieces of concrete missed the family’s 2-year-old daughter and 5-year-old twin boys, who were playing in the pool. Thankfully, and by the grace of God, none of the children were injured.
The homeowners declined an on-camera interview. They told FOX 4 that a passenger in the Camaro was taken to a hospital with a gash on the head.

Police cited the driver for reckless driving but have not released his identity. The homeowners described him as a young man in his early 20s.
Fort Worth District 4 Councilman Charlie Lauersdorf visited the family after the crash. He said speeding and distracted driving are concerns for residents and that officials need to look at ways to prevent similar incidents.
“This fence obviously, it’s all HOA property,” Lauersdorf told FOX 4. “But again, the larger issue though is distracted driving or speeding. Figuring out what happened.”
Conservative commentator Gunther Eagleman, reacting to coverage of the crash, wrote that the parents were calling their toddler’s survival “an act of God.” He criticized the reckless driving citation, writing, “A citation is not justice when children almost die in their own backyard.”
The frightening footage shows how quickly an ordinary evening at home turned dangerous. We thank God for protecting these three children.
