Author and Bible teacher Autumn Miles is encouraging Christians facing sudden change not to mistake transition for defeat.

Appearing in a recent interview with Daystar, Miles opened up about surviving domestic abuse, encountering the voice of God during one of the darkest nights of her life and receiving what she believes is a timely prophetic message for believers navigating unexpected seasons of uncertainty.

Miles recalled reaching a breaking point after enduring years of physical, emotional and psychological abuse in her first marriage.

When you’re suffering for so long, you just want out,” she said.

She admitted she had begun believing lies that God wanted her dead and that there was no hope left. Then, during what she described as a supernatural encounter around 3 a.m., everything changed.

“I could feel the supernatural fight for me. I could feel demonic forces and godly forces fighting for me,” Miles said.

As she cried out to God, she said she heard the Holy Spirit ask a simple but life-altering question: “Do you remember Me?”

Desperate for an answer, Miles opened her Bible to Psalm 91.

“I needed deliverance,” she said. “I needed to get out of that situation.”

She surrendered her life to Christ that night and says she worshipped for three hours, an encounter she believes permanently altered the trajectory of her life.

Although she eventually divorced her abusive husband, the journey that followed proved equally painful. Miles said the church she attended disciplined her because she pursued a divorce despite the abuse.

“They put me up for church discipline,” she recalled.

Rather than allowing bitterness to take root, however, Miles said God eventually led her toward forgiveness after studying the book of Job.

That experience later inspired her latest book, Holy Ghosted, which explores the painful seasons when believers feel abandoned by God.

“I think we need to understand that there are hard places in God,” Miles said. “God says nothing to Job for 38 chapters.”

Instead of viewing God’s silence as rejection, Miles argues believers should remember His unchanging character and trust His previous faithfulness until His voice becomes clear again.

Later in the broadcast, Miles shifted into what she described as a prophetic word centered on Joshua chapter 1.

“I want to tell you something,” she declared. “You still have a Jericho ahead of you to conquer.”

Addressing Christians who have recently experienced divorce, devastating medical diagnoses, or unexpected life changes, Miles said these situations often feel frightening because they force people to leave familiar seasons behind.

“The season might change,” she said, “but the mission is the same.”

Drawing from God’s repeated command to Joshua, Miles emphasized that fear causes believers to forget God’s promises.

“Be strong and courageous. Don’t fear or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

She encouraged viewers not to become fixated on what has ended but instead to prepare for what God is leading them into next.

Joshua’s greatest victories came after the wilderness, she noted, suggesting that many believers today may likewise be standing on the threshold of their own promised land. Miles’ testimony serves as a reminder that God’s greatest assignments often begin immediately after life’s most difficult chapters.
