Recently, President Donald Trump left many people concerned about the state of his eternal destination after stating that he was unsure if there was anything he could do to make it to heaven. In an interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, Trump clarified what he meant by his statements.
“When I made that statement, I was being funny, sarcastic, you know it’s bad for a politician to be sarcastic,” Trump said. “I was kidding, I was having fun. I don’t know if I will or not, I don’t know.”

“I was having fun,” the president said. “And they made it like, serious. The thing I thought I learned but I forgot about it, I guess…you can’t be sarcastic as a politician or have fun, but I don’t regret it.”
🚨TRUMP ON ‘GOING TO HEAVEN’🚨

“I was being funny, sarcastic. I said, ‘I’m never gonna make it to heaven, I don’t think I qualify.’ I was kidding, having fun. You can’t be sarcastic as a politician anymore.” — @POTUS pic.twitter.com/7IPyn9ay30
No matter who we are—politician or everyday person—the truth remains the same: there is only one way to heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ. Scripture tells us plainly in John 14:6 that Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Our good works, fame or earthly success cannot save us. Salvation comes only through repentance and faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross, where He shed His blood to redeem humanity from sin and offer eternal life to all who believe.

As believers, we should continue to pray for our leaders, including President Trump. May the Lord draw him closer to a personal revelation of Jesus Christ, giving him peace and assurance of salvation through faith alone.
