Conservative commentator Candace Owens has ignited a firestorm of controversy following a viral appearance on Tucker Carlson’s podcast, where she launched a series of inflammatory remarks against the state of Israel.
In the now widely circulated video, Owens accuses Israel of orchestrating global evil, calling it a “demonic nation” and claiming it was responsible for the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

“I don’t think we’ve been a sovereign nation since they shot JFK,” Owens said, before clarifying, “When I say ‘they,’ I’m talking about Israel.” She went on to describe the nation as having “gone mask down” and alleged that it is guilty of a “starvation campaign” against children. “I want nothing to do with it. I will never support Israel into the future,” she declared.
Owens also urged Jewish Americans to reconsider their support for Israel, claiming they have been “propagandized into believing they have to support this demonic state.”
The remarks drew immediate backlash from faith leaders, including Dumisani Washington, CEO of the Institute for Black Solidarity with Israel. CBN’s Raj Nair and Washington called Owens’ rhetoric dangerous.

“There’s no evidence that Israel had anything to do with the death of JFK,” Washington said. “This is the kind of unhinged rhetoric we hear from leaders like the Ayatollah of Iran, who has also called Israel a cancer.”
Nair went on to address the theological contradictions in Owens’ stance, noting that many of those who proclaim “Christ is King” may not realize they’re acknowledging the kingship of a Jewish Messiah.
“When we say ‘Christ is King,’ we’re saying that Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah, is our King,” he said.
Nair also pointed out that this “…obsession with Israel is demonic.”
Pointing to statistics, Washington also highlighted that Israel maintains a combatant-to-civilian casualty ratio of 1:1 in warfare—significantly lower than the global average of 9:1—indicating Israel’s efforts to avoid harming civilians even in the midst of conflict with Hamas.
Candace Owens’ inflammatory statements have reignited a critical conversation about how Christians engage with Israel in both theology and politics. While healthy critique of any government is valid, the rhetoric used by Owens crosses a line into dangerous conspiracy—something that cannot be ignored. rom a biblical and historical standpoint, the nation of Israel plays a unique and divinely appointed role that believers are called to honor, not demonize. Standing with Israel is not about endorsing every political decision—it’s about recognizing God’s covenant, His promises and the spiritual implications of turning against His people.
