Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. —Matthew 11:29
Jesus’ earthly ministry included preaching, healing, miracles, and teaching. You may have bowed your knee to call Him Savior, but do you know Him as “Teacher”?
The disciples sat under His instruction for three years before their spirits were truly teachable and ready to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
A teachable spirit seeks the Spirit of the Lamb of God, meek and lowly in heart. Jesus’ entire work in us is a divine teaching. The Holy Spirit who dwells in us—the very Spirit of Christ—shall teach us all things (John 16:13) if we submit our spirits to become meek and teachable.
Take up His yoke today and learn His meekness and lowliness of heart, because with that learning comes the teachable, pliable spirit that does nothing of its own will but says, “not my will, but thine be done.”
Holy Spirit, teach me. Guide me in all truth. Reveal
to me the Truth—Jesus Christ. Amen.
