What Jesus Really Meant When He Said ‘The Gates of Hell Will Not Prevail’

In Matthew 16:18, Jesus says, “I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” But what does it mean when believers say “the gates of hell will not prevail”?
