You heard clearly from the Lord Jesus what He called you to do, and now all hell is breaking loose around you. I’ve been there, friend, and I want to encourage you that you will make it if you don’t quit.
Doing the will of God is both feast and famine. In good times and bad, we pursue God and His will. In my recent conversation with influential pastor and leader Samuel Rodriguez on Revealing Jesus, we discussed the different seasons the Lord brings His people through from the lives of Elijah and Elisha.
In his latest book, Persevere with Power: What Heaven Starts, Hell Cannot Stop, Rodriguez encourages the body of Christ to continue in their God-given assignments. “The pushback you face may be the primary indicator you are aiming towards the right direction,” Rodriguez said.
The Holy Spirit will propel you through the drought, fire and rain to reach your full potential. The most powerful spirit on earth, the Holy Spirit, will continue to propel you through every season despite hardships.
“We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed” (2 Cor. 4:8-9, NKJV).
We are all driven by something, and if the Spirit of God drives you, nothing can stop you! Our “yes” to God is not a one-time thing. It is an everyday thing. In spite of our limitations, our understanding, our qualifications, we continue to say “yes” to a Savior who was obedient even unto death for our sake. He is worthy of all the pain, process, triumph and tragedy.
“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross” (Phil. 2:5-8, NKJV).
Let us bow our heads below our hearts once again and continue to pursue all Jesus has promised us. To Jesus be all the glory both now and forevermore. {eoa}
