For believers, especially Spirit-filled Christians, spiritual warfare is inevitable. The enemy will put anything in their way to distract them from their kingdom purpose.
But Pastors Mark and Grace Driscoll want to remind believers they can cling to a simple but powerful truth that Satan can never overturn: Ultimately, the victory is theirs, and they can live out their triumph here on earth.
“When Satan reminds you of your past, remind yourself of your future,” Pastor Mark tells Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of “Greenelines” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “The Bible says you’re going to be raised from the dead in the likeness of Christ, that Satan and his demons will be cast into the eternal torments of hell.
“Lies will be gone, bitterness will be gone and, when Jesus is done with you, there will be a perfect version of you. The Bible says that only is Jesus seated on a throne, but He has a little throne for you to sit on to rule and reign and exercise dominion and authority for all eternity. So, the battle that you’re fighting is to get to the person that Jesus ultimately has destined for you to be.
“If you feel defeated, don’t stay there. Be willing to consider how the enemy is attacking you, and don’t blame it on God. Just ask the Lord to reveal where Satan is attacking versus where the Lord wants to heal, and there is hope in that.”
