37 Days Before Easter: ‘The Authority Is Yours in the Name of Jesus’

Jamie Buckingham

In Matthew 8, Jesus took authority over a legion of demons that has possessed a man. He cast them into a herd of swine, and the whole herd ran violently over a cliff and perished in the sea.

The same thing is happening with modern-day people who have been demon-possessed and are now free, Christian author and pastor Jamie Buckingham says in this video devotional. “We should remember the power Jesus Christ gives us over evil spirits.”

The apostle Paul pointed out in Ephesians 6:12 that we struggle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” But, they do not have authority over you unless you let them.
