And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. —Colossians 1:10-12
The invisible aroma of the knowledge of God that the apostle Paul talked about has power. It lifts us from one degree of life to another. Our hearts become softer and more tender. We grow more caring, compassionate, patient, and forgiving. We become more sensitive to the Spirit of God. We are more like Jesus. In order to grow into maturity, we must know God the Father more intimately.
{ PRAYER STARTER }
Father, help me to be aware of the things in my life that are not pleasing to You. I want to grow and mature into Your likeness. Show me where I need to be more caring, compassionate, patient, and forgiving.
Our most vital ministry is revealing the
beauty of God’s personality to others.
