Deception will sweep the world in the days before Jesus’ return, the Bible warns, and one of the leading topics of deception centers on the nation of Israel. From false teachings to outright denial of God’s covenant, the effort to undermine Israel’s role in prophecy continues to grow.
Pastor Jack Hibbs, founder of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills in California, recently sounded the alarm about a doctrine known as “replacement theology.” In his message, Hibbs explained, “Replacement theology comes heavily out of those who hold some, not all, but some who hold to reformed theology. And in their practice, replacement theology [teaches]: take out Israel from the Bible and put the church in.”

He did not mince words about the dangers of this belief system. “They say Israel has no right to God any longer. They are the Christ killers. They blew it and everything that God promised to Israel is now promised to the church,” Hibbs said. “I believe that is one of the most, if not the most, egregious and arrogant belief systems today. It justifies first of all and spreads anti-Semitic thought.”

Hibbs stressed that God’s covenant with Israel is eternal and cannot be revoked. “God says that His covenant with the nation of Israel and the children of Abraham—that is both by belief and by genetics and by government—God says, ‘I will never never abandon the covenant I’ve made with them. It is eternal. As long as there’s stars and sun and moon in the sky, so long will my covenant be with Israel forever.’”
Calling replacement theology “evil from the get-go,” Hibbs said the doctrine “violates the authority of Scripture and frankly it understands nothing about Bible prophecy because wherever Israel appears, they put the church in there and that corrupts the entire narrative of eschatology. And it is certainly holding suspect soteriology, the doctrine of salvation.”
Hibbs urged believers to reject the teaching altogether. “Friends, get away from replacement theology and from those who hold to it. It is a last days manifestation promised by the Lord that there’d be those in the last days departing from the faith. There would be those in the last days that would turn their back on Israel. Just make sure you’re not one of them.”

As deception deepens in the world, Christians must remain rooted in Scripture and resist doctrines that distort God’s eternal promises. The covenant with Israel stands as a testimony to God’s faithfulness, and any teaching that erases that covenant undermines both prophecy and salvation. As Pastor Hibbs reminds, believers should not be counted among those who “turn their back on Israel,” but instead stand firm with God’s Word and His chosen people.
