What does it mean to walk according to the flesh? It means that you walk according to the dictates and the impulses of your fallen nature. Your lower nature.

The flesh doubts. The flesh is unbelieving. The flesh is fearful. The flesh is unable to submit to God.

Do you walk according to the Spirit? What exactly does it mean to do this? It is to seek and walk after His presence. To walk after His Word. To walk after what pleases Him. To follow Him at all costs. Even if you trip or fall, you get back up, dust yourself off and follow Him with all your heart. He is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6).

Romans 8:2 says, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.” What is the Spirit of life? It is the Spirit of God. The resurrection life.

You see, because He lives, you are now free from the law of sin and death. So, you may ask yourself, why do I keep on sinning? It is because you do not realize what has already been given to you.

Do you want to break the cycle of sin in your life? Follow Jesus. Follow His presence. Draw near to Him daily. I promise you as you draw near to the presence of Christ, you will have a different relationship with sin.

This does not mean you will never get tempted again, but sin will no longer lay a captive hold on you. You might ask why that is. It’s because of the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. You will then begin to realize that you have been made free already, by the law of sin and death.

There is a higher law; it is the resurrection life. It sets us free from the law of sin, death and self-condemnation.

Second Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, seeing the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, as in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord.” It is for His glory that we proclaim His name. Chris and his wife, Zuly, reside in the Fort Smith area with their three children.
