Every sign we would expect to see in the last days is now in full swing. This includes the amazing intervention of angels.
Jesus gave an interesting parable in Matthew 13 about the end of the age.
He explained that the devil, a fallen angel, would infiltrate the church, implanting dangerous people, practices and doctrines. But Jesus also said in the same teaching that there would also be a great harvest. The disciples asked Jesus to explain to them the parable of tares and wheat he gave in Matthew 13:24-30.
“The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers are the angels. ‘Therefore as the weeds are gathered and burned in the fire, so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of Man shall send out His angels, and they shall gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who do evil, and will throw them into a fiery furnace. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear'” (Matt. 13:39-43).
When would it be? The end of the age, and he showed how heavenly angels would be reapers in those days.
You find angels through the Bible, but in some seasons they seem to be more obviously interventional. There are a whopping 24 instances of angels being mentioned in the Apocalypse—the book of Revelation.
In Matthew 24:31, Jesus speaks once again about angelic involvement at the end of the age.
It’s clear that as we approach the coming of Jesus Christ, the world will see an exponential increase of angelic activity.
Yet, we have to remember that there are not only heavenly angels, but satanic fallen angels at work also. So we need clear discernment.
UFO enthusiasts say Ezekiel 1 describes a UFO, a flying saucer. Some even say extraterrestrials have visited the earth often and some believe that one of their chief leaders impregnated Mary, and so Jesus was half human and half space alien. And the fantasy goes on as they teach that Jesus was beamed up to the mother ship when he ascended.
When a person chooses not to believe the Bible, it’s amazing the stories they can invent—and believe.
But what did Ezekiel see when he described that wheel that looked similar to what we would call a flying saucer?
The Hebrew word for “wheel” is ophan, and plural it’s ophanim.
One of the Dead Sea scrolls describes ophanim as angels, and sections of the Book of Enoch (Chapters 61 and 71) portray them as a class of celestial being (along with the cherubim and seraphim). The ophanim are unusual-looking beings compared to the other celestial beings. They appear as a beryl-colored wheel within a wheel, their rims covered with hundreds of eyes.
We learn from Ezekiel 10:17 that the ophanim are clearly extra-dimensional beings. In fact, in Jewish theology the ophanim are among the top hierarchy of angels, right along with cherubim and seraphim. Ezekiel 1 and 10, Daniel 7 and Psalm 77 is where we find most of biblical revelation about the Ophanim.
We understand that one-third of the angels fell with Lucifer and were cast down from heaven ages ago. The question now is: Could the fallen ophanim once again be finding ways to penetrate this natural, three-dimensional world?
1. Reports are stunning about alien abductions—all with similar stories.
2. These beings speak about many pathways to God, world peace and how the space brothers are here to help the planet.
St. Paul, however, said in Galatians 1:8, “Although if we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel to you than the one we have preached to you, let him be accursed.”
3. Here’s something interesting: Never has a truly born-again Christian been abducted by these so-called aliens.
Angels are real. In Lot’s Day—angels rescued him, but others saw them as men. Interestingly, Jesus also told us in Luke 17 that His return would be in a day like the day of Lot. We might expect greater angelic involvement in our day-to-day lives as we approach Christ’s coming.
But we must keep in mind: Fallen angels and demonic forces are real too. They deceive, tempt, twist, and accuse. They will never tell you that Jesus is the only way to God—the one mediator and Savior who can rescue us from our sinful nature, which is the absolute truth. Discernment will be our divine defense in the days ahead.
Is the earth experiencing birth pangs now indicating we are nearing the end of this age? Are ophanim appearing as UFOs? Are demonic beings manifesting now, disguised as benevolent, helpful, space aliens or spirit guides? Are God’s angels becoming more actively involved with believers as we approach the appointed hour? Watch for more signs and more angelic involvement as we speed toward the coming of Jesus Christ for His church. {eoa}
