In the Bible, cities were won and lost at the gate.

The gate is where elders sat, where deals were made, and where enemies attacked first.

So where is the gate for your kids, your church, and your business right now? For most of us, it’s a screen.

Below are two stories of believers taking that gate back, plus one way to start this week.

Psalm 127:5 “Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.”

The verse before that one calls children arrows in the hand of a warrior. Then it sends the father to the gate.

Because the gate was where the city did business. Contracts were signed there. Disputes were settled there. And whoever held the gate decided what came into the city and what stayed out.

So the gate was where influence got decided.

Now look at the fights in front of you. Parents argue about screen time. Schools argue about phones in classrooms. Lawmakers argue about social media and minors. Every one of those arguments comes down to the same question. Who gets to shape a child’s mind, heart, and identity?

And right now the answer is mostly whoever owns the feed.

Today the gate is the platform, the app, and the marketplace where ideas get bought and sold. So whoever holds that gate is shaping your kids while you sleep.

For a long time the Church treated this like someone else’s fight. We built buildings and left the marketplace to people who do not share our values. But retreat never protected a single child.

That means Kingdom business is territory. So treat it with the seriousness of a calling.

Every brand a believer builds with excellence is a seat at the gate. Every channel, every product, every piece of content that carries truth is one more voice in the place where the next generation is being formed. So the marketplace is a mission field, and some of you are called to work it full time.

Martha is in Elite Creator, and she saw what one piece of content can do from a small church. She told us, “The video they posted has over a million and a half views, 44,000 shares, 631 reposts, and it added almost 300 people to that account.”

Then she added this. “People in China and Indonesia recreated it with our original audio. Our little church impacted people all over the world.”

One church reel carried a message into other nations. And that is what holding the gate looks like.

Taayla runs an interview show, and she brought a praise report to one of our coaching calls. A business owner they had interviewed watched the video. She said he “felt the Holy Spirit all over it,” felt led to give, and made a substantial donation to their cause.

Now look at the order there. The content carried the presence of God. Then the presence moved a business owner. And the business owner funded the mission.

So your content can carry more than information. When it carries the presence of God, it reaches people and resources you could never book a meeting with. That is how a brand at the gate gets funded.

But I want to be careful here, because a seat at the gate comes with a danger that strategy cannot fix.

This is spiritual warfare. And the enemy fights hardest where influence is decided, so you cannot hold a gate with strategy alone.

That means you need two things at the same time. You need prayer, because the battle for formation is won in the Spirit first. But you also need systems, because a prayer without a plan leaves the gate unguarded on Monday morning.

So here is your action step for this week.

Write down the one gate God has given you to hold. Maybe it is your family’s screens. Maybe it is your channel, your church’s media, or your business in your city.

Then pair it with one prayer and one system. Pray over that specific gate every day this week. And put one system in place to hold it, whether that is a posting schedule, a content plan, or a family screen agreement you enforce.

One more tip. Write that gate on your phone’s lock screen. Then the screen you are guarding reminds you to guard it every time you pick it up.

The gate will be held by someone. So make sure it is you.
