There was a time when children played outside without fear, neighbors looked out for one another, and biblical morality was the cultural norm. At least, that’s how Pastor Jimmy Evans remembers it.
“These are dangerous times, like we’ve never seen before,” Evans said during a recent episode of Tipping Point. “There’s just never been a period of time in human history that we see the world the way it is right now.”
Born in 1953, Evans reminisced about his childhood when “you never had any concept that anybody was going to harm you. Your neighbors were all Christians, your teachers were all Christians… There just wasn’t a sense of danger and immorality.”

Fast-forward to today, and Evans paints a starkly different picture.
“Kids are getting snatched off their front yards,” he said. “Parents have to just vigilantly guard after their children, and now because of the internet, the worst people on earth are stalking our children and our homes.”
To Evans, this moral decline is not just troubling—it’s prophetic.
He pointed to Luke 17, where Jesus compares the end times to the days of Noah and Lot. “They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage… until the day that Noah entered the ark and the flood came and destroyed them all,” he read.
The common thread, Evans explained, is the “business as usual attitude of sinners.” People go about life, ignoring warnings, while immorality festers unchecked—until judgment suddenly comes.

Evans cited Genesis 6 to describe Noah’s day: “The earth also was filled with violence… for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.” The Hebrew word used for “corrupt,” shakath, means evil, filthy and immoral.
Likewise, in Lot’s time, “Sodom and Gomorrah were known for rampant homosexuality,” Evans said. “That’s where we get the word ‘Sodom.’” He quoted 2 Peter 2, where Lot was “oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked” and “tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds.”
“This is our world,” Evans said bluntly.
Quoting 2 Timothy 3, Evans warned that the apostle Paul’s description of end-times humanity is no longer a warning for the future—it’s a headline for today. “Men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers… lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”
Evans noted the rapid descent into “moral chaos,” especially over the last two decades with the rise of the internet. “Every single area of this scripture has been fulfilled today,” he said.
But why does God judge immorality so harshly?
“Morals protect,” Evans said. “A moral society is a safe society.” He continued, “If I’m a moral person, you can trust me with your money, your family, your life… If I’m an immoral person, I’m going to damage you.”
Evans leaves us with a sobering assessment: “There is a perverted value system, and every society has values. In our society today, what you’re seeing is the most perverted value system in the history of the world.”
We’re not just watching a moral decline. If Evans is right, we’re witnessing a prophetic unraveling.
