Will A.I. Really Concoct a New Bible?

From Charisma News, June 13, 2023 – “WEF Official Calls for AI to Re-Write the Bible ‘Correctly.’”

Israeli futurist and author “Yuval Noah Harari predicts A.I. will soon write a new Bible. Harris is also a professor and advisor to the influential World Economic Forum and believes artificial intelligence is not only on the brink of creating a new religious text, but one that Harari asserts might actually be true.

He said, “A.I. can create new ideas. [It] can even write a new Bible.” He goes on, “Every religion claims … the books of the other religions, they (humans) wrote them.” But unlike the printing press or its Gutenberg Bible, Harari explained, “A.I. has the potential to come up with entirely new ideas distinct from prior human development.”

He then suggested that, despite the world’s three Abrahamic faiths comprising more than 3.8 billion people globally, A.I. might finally deliver what he purports would be a “correct” religion for the masses.

First, the Bible was not merely written by humans. Second Peter 1:20-21 says, “knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” Second Timothy 3:16 states, “ALL Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.” And Jesus said in John 17:17, “Your (God’s) Word is truth.” Jesus also said His words are spirit and they are life.

It’s critical for Christians to understand that the Bible is the Holy Word of God, which is unchanging and is to be the final authority in our lives. Besides the power of the gospel to transform millions of lives today and throughout the centuries, the Bible is based on over 300 prophecies about Jesus Christ fulfilled very specifically and perfectly. No religious leader has ever done that. No other was raised from the dead with over 500 eyewitnesses, with many others witnessing both His death and resurrection. The precise historical accounts, the scientific discoveries that were foretold and the great amount of archaeological evidence verify the Bible’s accuracy, authority and authenticity.

Now consider the following: A.I. is not the Holy Spirit. It cannot generate Holy Spirit inspired, life-transforming messages. From where does A.I. pulling biblical knowledge? In what context is it presented? Did God REALLY say that? Will the scripture be rightly divided as 2 Timothy 2:15 states?

In an April interview with Tucker Carlson, billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk revealed that Google co-founder Larry Page once told him he hoped to build an A.I. super-intelligence that Musk described as a “digital god.” To clarify up front, we don’t believe A.I. is the antichrist based on Scripture. We do believe that A.I. will most likely be a tool for the Antichrist. Second Thessalonians 2:3 clearly states that the antichrist will be a man. It states, “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition.”

Remember that the Bible calls the devil “subtle.” Subtle means that something is “not very obvious or easy to notice.” It is also described as something “so slight as to be difficult to detect.” The devil is highly skilled at using deception. Second Corinthians 11:14 says, “Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” And 2 Corinthians 2:11 warns us not to be ignorant of the devil’s schemes or devices. We are warned in 2 Timothy 4:3-4, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside to fables.”

A day is coming that will require the Western church to go underground. Many have already attempted to outlaw the Bible and label it as hate speech. This could happen while we are all still alive here on earth.

Those who have remained ignorant of the Bible, or become offended by Scripture, or straying from obedience to its instruction, have already abandoned their faith. Every believer must be steadfast with daily reading, prayer and study of the life-giving Word of God. This is the only way to avoid being deceived in the days to come.
