Waking up to worship, Katie Souza says the Lord gave her a vision that revealed how ancient gates and iron doors are standing in the way of God’s people—and how the blood of Jesus and angelic breakthrough are removing them.
For weeks, she had been unpacking Psalm 24:7–9: “Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be lifted up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.” She explained that gates in the Bible don’t just refer to physical doors but to spiritual gateways in the soul and body.

“Look, there are gates and doors inside of us and around us in the spirit. Just like there’s gates and doors to houses and buildings, there’s gates and doors inside of us,” she taught. “That word ‘gates’ means to split open, to reason, to calculate. Meaning there’s gates inside of you—gates to your mind, gates to your will, gates to your emotions.”
The enemy, she explained, wages war at these gates. “If sin or trauma come into our lives, he will war for the gates to our mind, will and emotions, and the gates to our physical bodies because we have eye gates, ear gates, nose gates, mouth gates. He’ll make war with us to take possession of those gates so that he can torment your soul and make your physical body sick.”
Souza shared a testimony of a man who came to one of her meetings, desperately sick and filled with backed-up bile. “I looked at him and I saw a vision of a gate, an ancient gate, and it didn’t swing open like on a hinge. It lifted up. And living water came flowing through it. I said, ‘I command your ancient gates to be lifted up.’”
Though the man wasn’t even a believer, he immediately saw the same vision. “Within 24 hours he lost like 15 or 20 pounds of bile weight. And then over the next few days he lost the rest of it and was completely healed,” she recalled.
This is why she says many believers aren’t walking in continual healing, even though Jesus promised rivers of living water to flow from our innermost being. “If these waters are flowing continuously, that would mean we’re constantly getting healed. So why aren’t we? Because there’s an ancient gate inside of us that’s shut down. And when that happens, that means there’s an enemy at the gate.”
The key, she says, is applying the blood of Jesus to those gates. “Jesus died outside the gate. Even if there’s an ancient gate that’s so rusted and locked down and barred closed that you can’t even get it open, you can slather it with the blood and the blood will eat through that rust and eat through those locks.”
Souza also shared how the Lord has given a “Cyrus anointing” from Isaiah 45, which breaks through gates of brass and cuts through bars of iron. This, she said, is paired with angelic assistance, just as Peter was freed from prison in Acts 12 when the iron gate swung open on its own.
That morning in worship, the Lord confirmed it again through vision. “I saw a bunch of doves fill the room. Their wings turned from just gray regular feathers to gilded with gold. Then I saw this iron door—it had been removed from the hinges. It was floating up on a set of wings. The angel had come. The Holy Spirit with the wings of the dove had come and had taken up and removed that iron door.”
Immediately after, Souza says, miracles and breakthroughs began to happen in her ministry. And she believes the same is available to those who will press in, soak in the blood, and decree Psalm 24 over their lives.

“I release the Cyrus anointing that I carry…to break through doors of brass and cut through bars of iron,” she declared in prayer. “And I decree the vision I saw today where the gate was off its hinges. That iron gate is being lifted up by the wings of the angel and the Holy Spirit right now in the name of Jesus.”
For those who feel stuck, blocked or besieged, the word is clear: the iron doors are being lifted, the ancient gates are opening, and the King of glory is coming in.
