In a sobering prophetic message, bestselling author Jonathan Cahn warns that the world is rapidly fulfilling the apocalyptic signs revealed in the book of Revelation. These signs that include a turning away from God, the revival of paganism and the rise of a global system echoing the Roman Empire.
“Revelation is saying that in that day there will be people worshiping demons,” Cahn said. “Will they know they’re worshiping demons? Maybe not. But they will be doing it.”

Cahn emphasizes that society is not simply drifting from Christianity into a moral vacuum, but rather into a dark spiritual alternative. “You cannot turn away without turning to something. There’s no neutrality. And that’s exactly what we are witnessing, a turn to a pagan morality, pagan worldview, pagan practices and worshiping without even knowing it.”

This return to ancient darkness isn’t limited to moral confusion, but deeply spiritual. Cahn draws attention to the revival of the occult in modern culture, pointing to Revelation’s language: “They didn’t stop worshiping demons nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts.” He explains, “The actual word here for sorcery or magic arts is pharmakeia, from which we get ‘pharmacy,’ as in drugs. We also have a generation that is addicted.”
Cahn connects the dots between increasing occult interest, rampant drug use and a rejection of organized religion, especially among the youth. “There are now more witches in America than there are Presbyterians,” he states, warning that the surge of witchcraft, New Age spirituality and paganism is no coincidence—it is prophetic.
The picture grows even darker as he highlights Revelation’s imagery of a revived empire. “The book of Revelation is connected to the book of Daniel. It foretells the rise of a one-world state… linked to the Roman Empire—a resurrected Roman state in some way.” Cahn suggests that Western Europe, specifically the European Union, is fulfilling this prophecy: “It is saying it’s a model for nations to come together and give their sovereignty to an overruling government… It started with the Treaty of Rome.”
One of the most chilling signs, according to Cahn, is the rise of global powers capable of amassing armies in line with biblical prophecy. Revelation speaks of an army 200 million strong, “It just so happens now, there has never been a power that could boast an army of 200 million people, until now… It is a dangerous nation… Its name is, of course, China.”

From the harlot of Revelation, symbolizing sexual immorality, to totalitarian rulers who echo shadows of the beast, Cahn concludes that the end-time signs are not approaching, but unfolding in real time. “We are seeing desecration, abominations, irrationality, the war on God and His people… It’s not natural what you saw. It is desecration. That’s demonic.”
As the world turns further from God, Cahn urges believers to remain alert and grounded in Scripture, recognizing the times and resisting the deception sweeping across nations.
