Rest in This Safe Place When Chaos and Confusion Reign

Worship is a place of rest we can all inhabit. When all else is chaos and confusion, there is a place of safety in the Father’s arms we find through exalting our Savior.

I have repeatedly been hearing the Lord say to worship. I recently released a prophetic article on it on Charisma Magazine. Worship is the core of our being. It is why we are created.

There is a heaviness in the atmosphere and the Lord told me this week that people are sliding into depression and becoming stressed. The weight of heaviness is bearing down as a demonic cloud hovering over our lives.

The Bible instructs us to put on a garment of praise “to preserve those who mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified” (Isa. 61:3).

I cannot correctly convey the number of times this week that the Lord has instructed me to worship. As a deliverance minister, I feel the weight of heaviness in the spiritual atmosphere. It is pressing, a heavy load to bear. But Jesus carried our load and burden to the cross.

When I used to tell my overseer I was burdened, he would reply, “Kathy, why are you carrying that burden when Jesus already carried it?” The Word of God says to “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be moved” (Ps. 55:22).

We won’t be moved if we choose not to be moved. It is a choice. We can put on a garment of praise or we can carry a burden the Lord already carried.

I know for me in the past week, every time I get a little overwhelmed by what is happening in the spiritual realm—which affects the natural world—I get up and worship. Yes, we can and should pray, but worship also lifts something off us and gets our eyes and focus back on Jesus, where it should be, trusting Him and knowing despite what we are experiencing, He alone still sits on the throne!

Worship can be done anytime, anywhere. It is not contingent on our churches being open. We can turn on some praise and worship in our car or in our living room. I encourage you to get your praise on in your home and make your living room God’s great dance floor as you worship and praise His holy name! {eoa}
