When the world looks at Israel, many see only conflict, politics and controversy. But according to Rabbi Pesach Wolicki, what’s really happening is much deeper. Behind the headlines is a spiritual reality, God Himself is protecting His covenant people and using Israel to reveal His glory to the nations.
Speaking on Daystar, Wolicki framed Israel’s current struggles in light of biblical prophecy and spiritual warfare. “The only real way to defeat a radical ideology is to actually defeat it,” he said, comparing today’s fight against jihadist Islam to the lessons of World War II. “We sit here and we see us wipe out Hamas, wipe out the Houthis, wipe out Hezbollah, wipe out Iran. But obviously, it’s not us. It’s not because Jews are great athletes. It’s God going before us in battle.”

Israel’s Role in God’s Plan
Wolicki pointed to Scripture to explain Israel’s unique calling. “The purpose of Israel is not Israel,” he said. “God tells Abraham to bring blessing to all the families of the earth. He tells the people of Israel at Sinai to be a kingdom of priests.”
That priestly role, Wolicki explained, is to bring the knowledge of God to the nations. “We’re just pawns in God’s game,” he said. “But that’s what’s happening here. God is winning. God is winning.”

The Covenant and Christian Support
For Wolicki, one of the most important aspects of what’s unfolding is how Christians respond. “Faith-based diplomacy is the name of the game right now,” he said, stressing the need for Christian support of Israel.
He warned against replacement theology, which denies God’s covenant with the Jewish people. “Is God a covenant-keeping God or is He not? That’s the dispute,” he said. “If God doesn’t keep His covenants to Israel, how do you know He’s going to keep His covenants to you?”
America and Israel Standing Together
The renewed bond between the United States and Israel is another key part of the picture. “America rising up to stand with Israel and to support Israel, the Jewish people in the Jewish homeland, is actually an affirmation of the Bible,” Wolicki said. He described this partnership as a testimony that both nations still uphold Judeo-Christian values in a world increasingly hostile to them.
A Spiritual Battle, Not Just Political
Wolicki emphasized that the opposition to Israel is ultimately spiritual. He cited Psalm 83, which describes nations plotting to “deny that the nation of Israel is a nation.” He explained that even modern voices critical of Israel are participating in this ancient rebellion against God’s truth.

“They can’t accept that the Bible is actually true, that God keeps His covenants,” he said. But for Wolicki, the evidence is clear: the survival and victories of Israel testify to the faithfulness of God.
“God is winning,” he repeated, urging viewers to see beyond the politics to the hand of God at work in history.
