Pastor John Hagee recently laid out a detailed biblical timeline of events leading to the end of the age, explaining how Scripture describes the sequence of prophetic events that culminate in the return of Jesus Christ. Pointing to the growing tensions surrounding Israel and the Middle East, Hagee explained that the Bible already outlines how these events unfold, beginning with the current church age and ending with Christ establishing His eternal kingdom. Drawing from passages in Matthew 24, Ezekiel 38–39 and the book of Revelation, he walked through the prophetic order of events that shape the biblical end-times timeline.

Below is the prophetic sequence of events he described.

1. The Church Age (The Era Christians Are Living In Now)

The current period in biblical history is known as the church age. This era began after the resurrection of Jesus Christ when the Holy Spirit was poured out on believers at Pentecost. During this time the gospel spreads throughout the world as people come to faith in Christ before the next major prophetic event occurs.

Hagee said, “We are currently living in the church age, which began suddenly on the day of Pentecost when cloven tongues of fire set on the heads of 120 in the upper room.”

2. The Rapture of the Church

The next event on the prophetic calendar is the rapture, when believers are suddenly taken from the earth and brought into heaven. This moment happens instantly and removes Christians from the world before the tribulation period begins.

Hagee explained, “The next event of God’s prophetic calendar is the rapture of the church when all living believers on earth will be suddenly snatched away from this earth into heaven in the twinkling of an eye.”

He added that the sudden disappearance of millions will leave the world trying to understand what has happened.

3. The Rise of a Global Government

After the rapture, world leadership reorganizes into a new global political structure. Scripture describes ten leaders forming a revived version of the Roman Empire that governs much of the world.

Hagee said, “Immediately after the rapture, a group of 10 men who are world leaders will come together to form what the Bible calls the renewal of the Roman Empire.”

He added that this political system resembles what many today call a new world order.

4. The Emergence of the Antichrist

From within this global system, a powerful leader rises to authority. This figure becomes the Antichrist, a ruler who takes control of the revived Roman Empire and gains worldwide influence.

Hagee said, “This new world order will instantly be formed by the Antichrist who will come out of Europe and lead a reunited Roman Empire with a group of 10 leaders.”

5. The Seven-Year Peace Treaty With Israel

Early in his rise to power, the Antichrist secures a peace agreement involving Israel. This treaty brings temporary stability to the region and causes the world to celebrate him as a diplomatic peacemaker.

Hagee explained, “The Antichrist as the leader of this new Roman Empire will secure a peace accord. The world will celebrate him as the great peacemaker.”

This agreement begins the seven-year tribulation timeline described in biblical prophecy.

6. The Tribulation Period

The tribulation begins after the peace treaty is established. During this time believers who were taken in the rapture stand before Christ in heaven while events on earth unfold under the growing influence of the Antichrist.

Hagee said, “The church is translated into heaven at the judgment seat of Christ where each of you will give an account to God of the life that you lived.”

7. The Gog and Magog War

Midway through the tribulation period, a coalition of nations led by Russia and allied with Islamic powers launches an attack against Israel. This conflict fulfills the prophecy described in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39.

Hagee said, “Three and a half years after the treaty was signed, there will be a Russian Islamic coalition that will attack Israel.”

8. God Supernaturally Defends Israel

During this invasion, God intervenes and destroys the attacking armies. The defeat of these forces reshapes global power and creates a political vacuum.

Hagee declared, “God Almighty will crush this Russian Iran coalition of nations.”

9. The Antichrist Establishes Global Control

After rival powers are removed, the Antichrist consolidates authority over the world. He creates a unified political, economic and religious system that demands loyalty and obedience.

Hagee said, “The Antichrist will dominate the last half of the tribulation as he organizes a one world government, a one world currency, a one world religion.”

Those who refuse to follow this system will face persecution.

10. The Battle of Armageddon

As the tribulation reaches its final stage, massive armies gather in Israel for the largest battle in human history. Nations assemble to fight over control of the region.

Hagee said, “Right there at the end of the tribulation is the battle of Armageddon. It is the most vicious battle ever recorded in human history.”

11. The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

At the moment the armies are gathered for battle, Jesus Christ returns to earth with His angels and with believers who were taken to heaven earlier.

Hagee said, “Jesus Christ comes from heaven with all of his holy angels and every believer.”

Christ defeats the armies and ends the conflict instantly.

12. The Millennial Kingdom

Following Armageddon, Jesus establishes His kingdom on earth where He reigns for one thousand years. This era is known as the millennial reign of Christ.

Hagee said, “Jesus Christ lands here, sets up his kingdom and it is a kingdom that shall never perish from the face of the earth.”

13. The Final Rebellion and Judgment

After the thousand-year reign, Satan leads one final rebellion before being defeated permanently. This is followed by the final judgment where those who rejected Christ are judged.

Hagee explained that those whose names are not written in the book of life face eternal judgment.

14. The Eternal Kingdom

The final stage of biblical prophecy is the eternal kingdom of God. Revelation describes a heavenly city where God dwells with His people forever and where His reign continues without end.

Hagee emphasized that the message of biblical prophecy ultimately points to hope rather than fear. Scripture presents a future where evil is defeated and Christ reigns as King of Kings.

The message of Bible prophecy is not a reason for fear but a reminder that God remains firmly in control of history. Scripture makes clear that every event unfolding in the world ultimately moves toward the moment when Jesus Christ returns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Rather than creating anxiety, the promises of the end times give believers confidence that evil will not have the final word. Christ has already conquered sin and death, and His return will establish a kingdom of righteousness that will never end.
