An 18-year-old woman is facing serious charges after authorities say she helped plan a violent attack targeting a Jewish synagogue in Texas, with the intent to cause mass casualties.

According to The Times of Israel, Angelina Han Hicks of North Carolina has been charged in connection with an alleged conspiracy to attack a synagogue in Houston. A 16-year-old Texas resident was also charged in the case, raising concerns about the involvement of minors in what investigators describe as a deeply disturbing plot.

Officials say the suspects intended to carry out a vehicle-ramming attack against a synagogue congregation—an act designed to inflict maximum harm in a place meant for worship and peace.

Intent to ‘Kill as Many Jews as Possible’

Court documents cited by The Times of Israel reveal the chilling nature of the alleged plan. Investigators say the goal was explicit: to “kill as many Jews as possible.”

The reported target was Congregation Beth Israel, a synagogue in Houston. The alleged method—a vehicle driven into a group of people—mirrors tactics seen in past acts of terror around the world.

Charges and Ongoing Investigation

Hicks now faces multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit assault. She is currently being held on a $10 million bond in North Carolina.

Authorities emphasized that public safety remains a top priority as the investigation continues across state lines. The involvement of multiple suspects and the nature of the alleged plan have prompted heightened concern among law enforcement officials.

A Call to Stand Watchful and Firm

In moments like these, we are reminded that the battle we face is not merely physical—it is spiritual. Scripture warns that “the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10), revealing the deeper forces at work behind acts of violence and hatred.

But the Word of God also calls His people to stand firm. “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” (Isa. 54:17). Even as darkness attempts to rise, God remains sovereign, and His light cannot be overcome.

This is a time for the church to pray—for protection over communities, for exposure of evil and for hearts to be transformed by the truth of Christ. Where hatred seeks to divide and destroy, the gospel stands as the only answer powerful enough to heal, restore and bring lasting peace.
