Five soldiers were shot in Fort Stewart, Georgia on Wednesday morning.
According to Fox News, the injured soldiers were part of the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team. They received treatment at the scene before being moved to Winn Army Community Hospital. Law enforcement detained the suspected shooter around 11:35 a.m. As NBC News noted, Fort Stewart went into a lockdown due to the incident, which has since expired.

In a statement posted to X, Attorney General Pam Bondi said that, “Our federal law enforcement agents in Georgia are coordinating to provide support as the situation at Fort Stewart develops. I am praying for all the victims and for our troops at the base.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reported that President Trump has been notified of the shooting. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has been informed of the situation as well.
