Could Meta’s artificial intelligence system be on its way to fulfilling prophetic end times scenarios?
According to Live Science, the AI systems created by Meta are on a new and fascinating path: they are making improvements on their own without any help from humans.
As Live Science noted, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, recently wrote, “Over the last few months we have begun to see glimpses of our AI systems improving themselves. The improvement is slow for now, but undeniable.”

Zuckerberg also noted that this means Meta’s AI is now on the path to ASI, or artificial superintelligence, meaning it will have the capability of superseding the human brain’s capacity. It is believed that once AI reaches this incredible milestone, it will lead to an “intelligence explosion.”

Because of this rapid rate of AI’s growth, Zuckerberg says that Meta will use great consideration prior to making models accessible to the public.
“I am extremely optimistic that superintelligence will help humanity accelerate our pace of progress,” Zuckerberg writes. “But perhaps even more important is that superintelligence has the potential to begin a new era of personal empowerment where people will have greater agency to improve the world in the directions they choose.”
From a biblical perspective, the concept of technology advancing beyond human control raises significant prophetic questions. Scripture warns of a time when human knowledge will greatly increase (Dan. 12:4) and when deception will be so strong that, if possible, even the elect could be misled (Matt. 24:24).
A self-improving AI capable of independent decision-making could become a tool in the hands of those seeking global influence, setting the stage for a world system that aligns with the coming Antichrist’s rule.

As technology moves toward artificial superintelligence, believers must remain discerning, recognizing that while such advancements may promise progress and empowerment, they could also facilitate unprecedented surveillance, control and manipulation—key elements in end-times prophecy.
