The Rev. Franklin Graham is calling on Americans to join in prayer for the next 50 days leading up to America’s monumental birthday.
In a new video posted to X, Graham announced the initiative to have Americans join in prayer leading up to July 4.
“In 50 days, on the 4th of July, America will celebrate its founding as a nation 250 years ago. Just think of all that has happened in this country from 1776 to 2026,” Graham said. “What started as a small group of people searching for freedom to live out their faith has become the greatest nation on Earth, and America continues to stand as a beacon.”

Graham pointed out that it is God who has blessed America, but that America has instead turned its back on the Lord. To reset America to the principles on which it was founded, Graham is calling for 50 days of prayer.
“I’m calling for 50 days of prayer,” Graham said. “Every day until the 4th of July, I’m asking pastors, representing all 50 states, to pray for America. I’m inviting you to join with us and to pray for America for these next 50 days. Pray that we as individuals, and as a nation, turn to the God of our fathers, the God of the Bible.”

In a nation increasingly marked by division, confusion and moral unrest, this call for 50 days of prayer serves as a reminder that the answers America needs will not ultimately be found in politics, power or prosperity, but in repentance and a return to God. Throughout Scripture, moments of national crisis often became turning points when people humbled themselves before the Lord—and Graham’s message echoes that same urgent appeal today.
If revival has ever been needed in this generation, it is now—and perhaps this 250th anniversary could become more than a celebration of history, but the beginning of a spiritual awakening that changes the course of America once again.
