Colby Barrett, executive producer of “A Faith Under Siege,” traveled along the front lines, from Kharkiv to Kherson, interviewing dozens of believers who have faced violence and oppression. Despite Russia’s public identity as a Christian nation, evangelicals such as Baptists and Pentecostals have been singled out, viewed as foreign or American faiths and therefore as potential threats to Russian control.

The report highlights alarming statistics that show disproportionate targeting. Hundreds of Protestant churches have been destroyed or looted and nearly half of the religious leaders killed in the conflict have come from Protestant communities, even though they make up only a small percentage of the Ukrainian population. The film also documents the abduction of thousands of Ukrainian children, many of whom were taken into Russia or placed in military camps.
Through stories of resilience, such as pastors who continued ministering despite bombardments and threats, the film paints a picture of faith under siege yet enduring. It aims to inform Christians abroad so they can respond with prayer and support.
