One of America’s most influential churches is taking a significant step into higher education.
Elevation Church, the North Carolina-based megachurch led by Pastor Steven Furtick, is launching Elevation College this fall through a partnership with Southeastern University, a Christian institution affiliated with the Assemblies of God, according to reporting by WFAE and Carolina Public Press.
The new college is designed to combine accredited academic coursework with hands-on ministry training inside one of the nation’s largest churches.
Operating under the slogan “Where calling meets college,” Elevation College will offer students opportunities to pursue degrees in areas such as biblical studies, pastoral care and counseling, digital media and design, production and ministerial leadership.

According to WFAE, the partnership follows Southeastern University’s established model of working with church-based educational sites across the country. Students enrolled in the program will not only complete coursework but will also gain practical ministry experience by serving alongside Elevation Church staff in worship, youth ministry, production, creative departments and other church ministries.
The college’s annual cost is expected to remain below $20,000, including tuition, housing and fees, according to figures cited by Charlotte Ledger.
