The fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has once again been shattered, something many expected given the terrorist group’s violent and deceitful nature. Despite international hopes for peace, Hamas’ ideology leaves no room for lasting calm, only moments of pause before the next assault.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered “immediate and powerful strikes in the Gaza Strip” on Tuesday after Hamas militants opened fire on Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers in Rafah, as reported by Fox News. The order followed emergency consultations with Israel’s top security officials after an Israeli military source confirmed the ceasefire had been broken.

“Following the security consultations, Prime Minister Netanyahu instructed the military echelon to carry out immediate and powerful strikes in the Gaza Strip,” his office said in a statement Tuesday.
The terrorist group’s violation comes just weeks after two IDF soldiers were killed in a similar attack in Rafah. According to Israeli military sources cited by Fox News Digital, Major Yaniv Kula, 26, and Staff Sergeant Itay Yavetz, 21, died when militants emerged from a tunnel and opened fire on an excavation vehicle. Another soldier was seriously wounded.

In response to that earlier incident, the IDF carried out air and ground strikes across southern Gaza, dismantling six kilometers of underground terrorist tunnels using more than 120 munitions. “The terrorist organization used the underground site to advance attacks against the State of Israel,” the IDF said in a statement at the time.
Hamas, showing no remorse, reportedly retaliated by delaying the handover of a hostage’s body, according to The Associated Press.
The U.S.-brokered ceasefire that took effect Oct. 10 had temporarily paused the two-year war between Israel and Hamas, allowing hostages to be exchanged for Palestinian prisoners. Yet as history has repeatedly shown, any truce with Hamas is fleeting.

True peace for Israel will never exist while Hamas remains. The group is not simply a political faction but a demonically driven death cult bent on Israel’s destruction. Their hatred is spiritual, not strategic, and they will not stop until the Jewish state is erased from the map. But according to Scripture, that day will never come. Israel’s survival is divinely assured, no matter how fierce the attacks become.
