On his program, conservative commentator Glenn Beck addressed a recent opinion piece from the New York Times that calls for sweeping constitutional changes. He argued that progressives are attempting to dismantle the careful balance the Founders designed, one that limited government power and preserved the role of the states.
Beck noted that the United States is not a pure democracy but a republic meant to guard against mob rule. He warned that proposals to remove the Electoral College, further alter the Senate and expand the Supreme Court would strip smaller states of influence, concentrate power in the hands of a few and undermine the separation of powers the Founders established.

If Americans remain silent as these nefarious forces press forward the country risks losing its foundation in God and falling into the grip of Satan. What begins as political reform could become the unraveling of the republic itself where evil and corruption dictate the future. The call to vigilance is urgent for without resistance a day may come when God is pushed out entirely and darkness rules the land.
