On Sunday, Dec. 13, families can enjoy three TV Christmas specials based on author Donna VanLiere’s best-selling novels by the same titles: The Christmas Shoes, The Christmas Blessing and The Christmas Hope (check local listings).
In the newest film, The Christmas Hope, Mark and Patricia Addison are hurting from the loss of their son. Grief has divided them, and they are strangers living in the same house. But when Patricia (Madeleine Stowe), a social worker, brings home a foster child who has nowhere to go for Christmas, the couple set aside their issues to give Emily a special holiday. Emily’s presence helps them address their loss, and Mark (James Remar) and Patricia gain new hope for their marriage.
The movie begins by introducing several different situations and characters that at first seem random and disconnected. But soon the plot develops into a story of hope, love, healing and redemption.
Although The Christmas Hope includes some language and scenes of alcohol consumption, overall it is a film the whole family can enjoy.
