Living in the Music City USA area, I hear lots of classic summer anthems, one of which is “California Girls” by The Beach Boys. Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg did a number with the same title (although they spelled it differently) that became song of the year. Both blockbuster hits focused on features and qualities that supposedly informed us about why West Coast girls were best.
