America is facing more than a national security challenge. The nation is confronting the consequences of moral confusion, political compromise and a refusal to call evil by its name. The rise of Islamic terrorism on U.S. soil is no longer a distant memory. It is present, visible and escalating.
Dinesh D’Souza delivered a stark warning on a recent episode of his podcast, declaring, “Jihad did not come to America by accident. It came to America by design.”
The Threat Is No Longer Overseas
Islamic terrorism is no longer confined to foreign battlefields or isolated plots against major landmarks. The threat has moved into everyday American life.
“They’re not merely interested in striking the White House or iconic buildings,” D’Souza said. “They’re showing up in our streets, schools, churches and neighborhoods. It’s the phenomenon of the jihadi among us, the terrorist next door.”
A series of recent attacks and attempted attacks illustrates the shift:
- Bloomfield, Michigan synagogue attack: An individual allegedly rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into Temple Israel synagogue, targeting a place of worship in what was described as a jihadist act.
- Old Dominion University classroom attack (Virginia): A man reportedly entered a classroom shouting “Allahu Akbar,” killing a veteran instructor and injuring others in a targeted campus assault.
- New York City bombing attempt near mayor’s residence: Two ISIS-inspired individuals allegedly threw homemade explosive devices at an anti-Islam demonstration outside a mayor’s mansion.
- Austin, Texas bar shooting: A gunman wearing a sweatshirt reading “property of Allah” reportedly opened fire in a bar, killing two people and injuring 14 in a mass shooting.
- Texas elementary school attempted attack: A suspect was arrested while attempting to enter an elementary school in tactical gear with a holstered firearm, allegedly intending to carry out an attack.
These incidents are not random. They reflect what D’Souza describes as a broader pattern driven by global jihad and enabled domestically.
“All of this in just a short period,” he said, pointing to multiple attacks. “Makes you wonder about the religion of peace, doesn’t it?”

Media Silence and Misdirection
Despite the severity of these events, coverage has been inconsistent and often incomplete. Critical details are minimized or buried.
“There has been very little national coverage at all,” D’Souza said, referencing an attempted school attack. “The reason is to keep the media spotlight away from how radical Islam poses a danger to our society.”
He pointed to headlines that omit ideological context from the terror events. “Notice what is missing from this headline. Any reference to Islam or Islamic terrorism.”
When motives are clear, they are often labeled as unknown. “Jake Tapper knows the motive. Everyone knows the motive,” D’Souza said. “But since the attacker didn’t leave a manifesto, Tapper can declare motive unknown.”
In this framework, the real concern becomes public reaction rather than the ideology driving violence. “Islamophobia, not radical Islam, is the problem,” he said.
How America Opened the Door
The central factor connecting these incidents is immigration. The individuals involved are not arriving undetected. They are entering through established systems.
“The single factor that unites these jihadi attacks in America is immigration,” D’Souza said. “All of the incidents mentioned above involve legal immigration.”
This reality challenges long-held assumptions. Legal entry has been treated as a safeguard. It is not.
“We presumed that the legals all came here in pursuit of the American dream,” he said. “We are discovering that this is not necessarily the case.”
The result is a system that has allowed dangerous ideologies to take root inside the country. “Our immigration system has imported huge numbers of people who hate America and want to overthrow the American system,” D’Souza said.
A Spiritual and Cultural Conflict
At its core, the issue is not merely political or procedural. It is civilizational.
D’Souza describes what he calls a “Red Green Alliance,” a convergence between the cultural left and radical Islam.
“For the Reds, it’s a permissive socialist society,” he said. “For the Greens, it’s the caliphate under the rule of Sharia.”
Despite different end goals, both share a common direction. “Both hate traditional America. They hate the flag, the Constitution, the Fourth of July,” he said. “Both hate Western civilization.”
This convergence manifests in different ways. “For the reds, it’s through the propaganda of the universities and the media,” he said. “For the Greens, it’s through violent jihad and infiltration.”
The shared objective is unmistakable. “Both the left and the Islamic radicals are united by a common enemy,” D’Souza said. “Destroying that enemy is their top priority.”
A Gathering Storm
The danger is not limited to isolated attacks. It points to a larger and more coordinated threat.
“We’re accustomed to lone wolf attackers,” D’Souza said. “But imagine teams, each one made up of a dozen or so highly trained terrorists launching coordinated attacks in our towns and cities.”
The nation is not prepared for such a reality. “We’re completely unprepared for that,” he said.
The implications extend beyond policy. They reach into the moral and spiritual state of the country. A society that refuses to discern truth, confront evil and defend its foundations leaves itself exposed.
D’Souza’s conclusion is direct and urgent. “It’s a gathering storm,” he said. “And we had better be ready for it.”
