If You Want to Have Kingdom Influence, You May Have to Stop Clinging to This

When it seems like social media is blowing up more and more each day, it can be easy to fall into the comparison trap. It’s especially difficult when we see someone raking in the follows, likes and comments and the only followers we’ve got are our family members. On this episode of Mastery Talks with Dr. Nathan Culver on the Charisma Podcast Network, we’ll see that maybe those popular crowds aren’t as influential as we might think.

To begin, Dr. Culver says we must ask, “We’re seeing people become popular, but are we really seeing people become influential?”

Contrary to common belief, he says that those who are influential are not always popular. “You can be famous or known or celebrated amongst a certain population,” Dr. Culver says. “But that doesn’t mean that everybody will celebrate you.” Take the biblical Abraham, for instance. Dr Culver says Abraham is a template of how we are to hold on to and maintain our faith, even when the odds are stacked against us.

So if you want to be an influencer for the kingdom, Dr. Culver says you have to be OK with not being popular. He says, “You have to be OK with not being celebrated. You have to be OK with not being lifted up or exalted.”

To see how the Lord can use you to be an influencer for His kingdom, listen to the full podcast here. {eoa}
