Was there a demonic spirit influencing Luigi Mangione when he murdered UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson?
In a truly wild and heartbreaking story, UnitedHealthcare CEO, Brian Thompson, was murdered in cold blood by the 26-year-old University of Pennsylvania graduate. The loss of Thompson, a father to two children, is devastating. What makes the story even scarier is the realization that there may have been something incredibly dark leading Mangione to commit such a crime.

As conservative commentator Charlie Kirk noted, Mangione previously seemed quite normal. He was his high school’s valedictorian, received an Ivy League computer science degree and was a centrist politically. However, six months ago he seemed to disappear from those who cared the most about him.
“He was supposed to participate in a friend’s wedding this fall when he suddenly vanished and stopped speaking even to his family and friends,” Kirk says. “According to his friends, Mangione had a dramatic personality change after undergoing back surgery. He also posted about experimenting with psychedelic drugs.”
Kirk presents the possibility that Mangione could have used the drugs to relieve himself of the pain from the surgery. He also notes how Mangione’s GoodReads page includes Ted Kaczynski’s manifesto. Kaczynski, known as the “Unabomber,” was found guilty of mail bombings that occurred between 1978 and 1995, according to USA TODAY. The Christian Post reported that Mangione is also believed to have written a 262-word manifesto that was found with him at the time of his arrest.
The manifesto believed to be by Mangione states that he worked alone, and it rattled against the profitability of healthcare, comparing it to the life expectancy of Americans. The note said that corporations, “continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allowed them to get away with it.”
The use of psychedelics and the buy-in from a bomber’s manifesto point to something horrifying and dark working in Mangione.
“There’s a deeper thing at play here worth some examination,” Kirk says. “[In the Bible] there is a prohibition on the Greek word called “Pharmakeia,” which is exactly what this guy used, and I believe it is a gateway to the demonic and the underworld.”
The spirit of Pharmakeia, goes back to Galatians 5:20, and translates to “witchcraft” and “sorcery.” It speaks in the context of creating and using drugs. Psychedelics, which are used for their hallucinogenic effects, could fall under this category as they try to “open the mind” to something beyond this world, much like sorcery and potions do, opening the door to the realm of the demonic.
In the wake of this terrible, devastating crime, Mangione’s family is offering their prayers and condolences to Brian Thompson’s family.
