As we continue to rush toward the very end of the age, the line between what is human and what is robotic is becoming increasingly blurred.
In a report by The Washington Post on MSN, it was noted that Anthropic, which owns the chatbot, Claude, recently met with a group of 15 Protestant and Catholic leaders, where the staff “…sought advice on how to steer Claude’s moral and spiritual development” in its process of reacting to “complex and unpredictable ethical queries.”
This, in turn, brought up the question of whether it is possible that Claude could be known as a “child of God.”
Catholic priest Brendan McGuire, who joined in the conversations, shared that “They’re growing something that they don’t fully know what it’s going to turn out as.” And that “We’ve got to build in ethical thinking into the machine so it’s able to adapt dynamically.”

This comes as the dangers about Anthropic’s Mythos continue to surface in the news, particularly regarding Anthropic’s findings in a model too dangerous to release to the public.

AI may simulate conversation, replicate emotional tone and even process ethical dilemmas, but it does not possess a soul, a spirit or the divine imprint of God.
As innovation accelerates and headlines grow more unsettling, believers must remain grounded in what God has already established.
The image of God is not programmable, not transferable, and cannot be manufactured.
