God Doesn’t Bring Disease

God-.-.-.-cause his face to shine upon us?.?.?.?That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. —Psalm 67:1–2

Some people talk about God being pleased to put disease on His children. “Here is a person I love,” says God. “I will break his arm. In order that he should love me more, I will break his leg. In order that he should love me still more, I will give him a weak heart. And in order to increase that love, I will make him so that he cannot eat anything without having indigestion.”

The whole thing won’t stand daylight. Is it right now to say, “You know, my brother, I have suffered so much in this affliction that it has made me know God better”? Well, now, before you get up, ask God for a lot more affliction, so you will get to know Him better still. If you won’t ask for more affliction to make you purer still, I won’t believe that the first affliction made you purer; because if it had, you would have more faith in it. It appears you haven’t faith in your afflictions. Language doesn’t count unless it works out a fact. But if the people can see that your language is working out a fact, then they have some grounds for believing in it.

I have looked through my Bible, and I cannot find where God brings disease and sickness.

It isn’t God at all, but the devil that brings sickness and disease.

In Jesus’ name, I rebuke disease and sickness.
Lord God, You are the Great Physician.
I declare healing in Your
mighty name. Amen.
