When Moses stood at the Red Sea, the waters trembled and then parted (Ps. 77:16). When Jesus took His last breath, the temple shook; then the veil between God the Father and His children was ripped in two. When Paul was beaten in prison, the Lord sent a shaking to free him from his chains (Acts 16:26).
I’m here today to tell you to stop fearing the shaking. For this shaking that you’re facing, aren’t the winds and waves that beat you down in your past? The shaking you see now is the evidence of an unseen power waiting to be released over you.
You’ve grown a distaste for conflict and opposition but today, God the Father extends His hand and asks you this:
“Will you trust Me? Will you trust Me with your heart and life, My child? You seek and hunger after Me. You long to hear My voice and to know My way. But, My child, don’t you know that you’ll only truly know Me when you lay down your life to follow Me?
“For the hurts that have held you bondage hold you no more. I’ve sent a shaking into your midst that has removed them. I’ve taken away all the lies and obstacles that have distorted your vision. I’ve laid before you a new way and a path that you don’t know yet. It doesn’t lead to the wilderness — the place of spiritual death — or to Egypt — the land of flesh and sin. I lead you to the promised land, the path of your life that I’ve laid out before you.
“Put your striving to rest, My child. Don’t fight against My hand but trust My shaking. For whatever isn’t shaken is what I’ve given you. Surrender your heart and your life to Me, My child. Trust that I’ll take care of it.”
It doesn’t take much for the Lord to break the chains before you but simply a willing heart and life that’s dedicated to Him. I know that you’ve been feeling the barrenness in your life for some time. It’s time to trust your Father to pour out His water on you. He’s willing to give you all that you seek. He withholds none of it from you! He’s just waiting for you.
It can be hard to trust the Lord, especially when your fears are louder than His voice. So, take some time this week to recognize the shaking in your life as a call to run to Him.
